Chapter and verse, please
I need a chapter and verse to validate the books we use in our present canon of the Bible. Anybody got one?
Anybody have a chapter and verse proving that Christ was the same substance as the Father? Or that he had two natures in one person?
Anybody have a chapter and verse telling me that the marriage between two of the same gender would be immoral (after all, wasn't Paul just condemning pre-martial sodomy?)? Or a chapter and verse telling me that Christians (as long as they are not the pastor) should not be polygamists? Or a chapter and verse telling me that married couples should not have relations in public? Or a chapter and verse telling me what immodesty is? Or giving me the definition of reverence?

If you think this post conclusively proves that you don't need chapter and verse, than you have the IQ of houseplants.

I am sure that all of us have now thoroughly baffled all who are not so keenly on the inside track of the fundamentalist blogging.
Although, if you give me a chapter and verse, I may just explain it away with a principle.
Logically connected verses are also OK. But just expecting people to believe that you are recieving new revelation from God is not OK. You don't have apostolic authority.
If this is a response to your "against P&W" posts, you need to connect a few more things than just quoting verses showing that we should treat God respectfully. You have to somehow support your presupposition that other types of worship are not respectful.
