I could not pass up posting this remark by Alexander Campbell on Baptists:

"I had unfortunately formed a very unfavorable opinion of the Baptist preachers as then introduced to my acquaintance, as narrow, contracted, illiberal, and uneducated men" (The Millennial Harbinger, V.
