What's wrong with "I've got a mansion" anyway?

Dr. Albert Mohler makes the following remark in his lecture "The Nature of True Beauty":

"As you continue reading about the New Jerusalem, you will understand its beauty reflected in the precious and semi-precious stones and elements, streets of gold. This has been turned into the stuff of gospel music, but the picture is much more of beauty than of opulence."

I have a problem with, "I've Got A Mansion", other than the fact that the title is poor grammar! It should be, "I Have A Mansion", but I digress!

The verse on which the song is based is John 14:2, "In My Father's House are many mansions..." As I have studied this, the term "mansion" is either "dwelling place", or "abiding" speaking of those abiding or dwelling in Heaven.

In I Cor. 6:19, we read that our "body is the temple of the Holy Spirit". Our temple here on Earth will be our glorified dwelling place in the "Father's House". The "mansion" term is "dynamic equivalence".

Now, the problem. The author of the song starts out by claiming, "I'm satisfied with, just a cottage below. A little silver, and a little gold. But in that City, where the ransomed will shine, I've got (sic) a gold one, that's silver-lined". A MANSION?

It sounds as if the writer of the song wants to make us think (and many think this way) that God will give us this big house within Heaven where we can live, and our address will be on the "Street of Gold".

The glorified body we will be given is NOT a mansion! If you look at what we will be wearing in Rev. 19:8, "And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen,....", it doesn't sound like we will be given a "mansion"!
